1970's



  • In 1972, the UAE was created. 
After independence from Britain, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujayrah, Sharjah, Umm al-Qaywayn and Ras al-Khaymah come together as the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Sheikh Zayed Bin-Sultan Al Nahayyan presides over the federation.
